FAQ
How do I book a session?
Please email me to book your session.
Do you have a studio?
I do not have a studio. All my sessions are outside or in your home.
Where is your immediate service area?
Within my immediate service area are the counties of:
Bath, Augusta, Botetourt, Bedford, Amherst, Highland, and Rockbridge County, Virginia.
Do you travel?
Yes! Traveling will always have my heart. Travel fees are required for any session outside of Rockbridge County, Virginia.
Where will we go for an outdoor shoot?
Living in such a beautiful region, there are so many options!
First, I would ask... What suits you? Really—that’s the most important part of choosing a location.
We want to pick a location that suits you and represents who you are. Maybe you love the local coffee shop or the library. Maybe you love standing on top of a mountain along the Blue Ridge Parkway or maybe you want your session in a field in the valley below. The possibilities are endless. I have a few locations that I love, but I’ll work with you to decide on just the right spot that fits you and your needs.
What if my kids won't listen/sit still/pay attention/smile....
I know exactly what that is like, but I do not expect your child to be perfect. If they are energetic kids who like to move and run and play, we'll do that. If they're shy and need some help to come out of their shell we'll ease into it gently. If they are exclusively into knock-knock jokes or will only smile and laugh if someone does something crazy, I'm okay with that too. :)
Do you give out RAWS (unedited) files?
Simply put, you don’t ask a professional photographer to give you their RAW photos because that would be giving you only half of an unfinished work of art.
Photographers spend so many hours fine tuning their photos to be edited in a way that reflects their style and gives their clients incredible images they’ll remember forever. By hiring a photographer and then asking them to deliver their work unfinished, half complete, you aren’t receiving the service they intended. More so, by asking your photographer for their RAW unedited photos it means you don’t trust them to deliver an edited image you’ll love. And honestly? If you don’t trust a photographer to deliver quality edited images you love, you probably don’t like their editing. Which begs the question, why are you hiring them in the first place?
What should I bring to our family session?

What does "Hand Edited" mean?
I take the time to perfect each and every image. The click of my camera is only the beginning of my process. I enjoy perfecting your images. I take the time to treat each and every photograph like a canvas and perfect it with my paint brush.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes! I am licensed and insured!
What’s included in your sessions?
Every session includes:
• Planning help (location + timing + outfit guidance)
• A relaxed, guided experience (I’ll pose you and keep it fun + natural)
• A fully edited online gallery delivered digitally
• Print options available if you want to turn your photos into wall art or albums
FAQ
Do we have to order prints from you?
No, all my galleries include files that are ready to print. You do not have to order directly from me, but I do have a few suggestions on the best printing labs. Ordering directly from me is the only way I can guarantee high quality lifetime prints.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Weather happens, but we have options.
You may choose to instead do an indoor session in your home. Otherwise, we can brave some weather situations (heavy rain is out of question, though). If the weather forecast looks like it may be unbearable the morning of your session, I’ll give you a call and we’ll work together to find a suitable option, which may be rescheduling.
HOW LONG DO YOU STORE FILES FOR?
I try to store files indefinitely, but do not guarantee the storage of images once the final gallery is delivered. I have multiple hard drives and multiple backups. I do ask that when you download your gallery, you back up your files on the off chance something happens to mine. Once the final gallery is delivered and you have downloaded it, I remove it from my site. If you need to get back into it at any time, that is not a problem at all. I can get you back into your gallery for $60.
How long will it take to receieve our gallery?
2-3 weeks is my turnaround time for regular sessions.
4-6 weeks for weddings is my turnaround time.
